Hunkered down in a stronghold during a time of engagement with the Philistines, King David longed for a drink of water from the well of his native Bethlehem. Unbeknownst to him, his 3 strongest, bravest men risked their lives to go 12 miles and break through enemy lines to bring him some of that water. David’s response to their action was not what we’d expect. What does this incident say to us about what means to be a living sacrifice?
